March 6, 2015

Are you a high school aged youth who wants to build your leadership and get involved in the Boston Chinatown community? Chinese Progressive Association’s youth program, Chinese Youth Initiative (CYI) is seeking interns for our paid summer internship!

Find your inner leader, get to know Chinatown, and learn about community organizing!

The CYI Summer Internship is a seven-week experience that develops the leadership of high school-aged youth and provides opportunities to make change in the Chinatown community. The internship focuses on the experiences and issues of Chinese Americans in the Greater Boston area. Through interactive workshops, discussions, videos, guest speakers, field trips, and hands-on projects, participants are given the knowledge and tools to become leaders in the community.  In the final week of the internship, participants will have an opportunity to reflect on and share their learning in a cumulative event.  Youth who have a strong investment in their community, who are bilingual in Chinese, and come from immigrant families are strongly encouraged to apply.

The internship will run from July 6th - August 20th, Monday through Thursday, 10AM-4PM. All interns will receive a stipend.

Applicants are encouraged to attend the CYI Open House Week, March 23rd-27th, 3-6PM at our office, located at 28 Ash Street, Boston, MA 02111 to get your questions answered and meet past interns!
